This is a short video of when the windmill was put up for the first time. The PVC pipe tower was not to the job, so I will have to dig down an extra 2 feet or so, so it doesn't fall over. Estimated cut in at 12v = 360 rpm = about 11mph. The windmill should put out 20-30 amps = about 300 watts. The blade diameter is 67 inches and are made out of poplar. Anyone wanting to buy a treadmill motor should find one that has the lowest rpm/volt ratio, mine is about 30rpm/volt.

  • Looks like the tail may be too small to keep it facing the wind.

  • @PrivatePilot66 You are right. I was too impatient to build a tail, so I stuck a smaller one one from a 30" windmill. You can see my bigger tail in the other videos.

  • Nice video guys! Are you guys using this in a remote location? The blades look pretty sweet!

  • No... And thanks about the blades. This is my back yard in PA, where some big powerlines run through, so the wind is only good when it is south or north, not west or east.
