  • @LifeinSlowLane No one you've ever heard of in the mainstream at least. The chord progression in this song is absolutely one of the most original compositions in modern musical history, and I'll stand by that statement. It's incredible really. They actually hide the melody of the song until the last line of each verse, then they move into the melody of the chorus. It's very flirtatious to the ear.

  • this one goes out to all you LSU fans out there

  • @Arrivedin54 So damn sad, huh ?

  • just bewitched by this song ,never get tired of listening to it, may be the best written by fagen and co.

  • Thanks to my Mom for buying this album when I was a kid.

  • @quentedlin Well put friend. While I can and do listen to almost all of SD's songs over and over, this one has a special place for me and probably every SD fan for sure.

  • Sounds like steelyden1861 has got some issues, maybe he should be critiquing a video of deliverance!

  • Sexy, sassy, saucy, swishy, sultry, sonorous soul sisters, surrounded by a horn §§ to die for, supported by multiple keyboards, solid rhythm §§, superb guitars, and bass, and Fagan and Becker, MacDonald, or other Guest Stars, Denny Diaz ( original guitar solo on Bodhissatva )

Larry Carleton, Jeff ( the Skunk Baxter ) I saw these guys and it changed my life. I like the Wite girl the best.

  • Steely Dan at it's absolute best .....

  • How delightful! A re-enactment of the Civil War--a war of words rather than a real war conducted in mud, blood everywhere, body parts, the smell of rotting flesh, human beings as cannon fodder, nations pouring their wealth and the lives of their young men into a furious melee, and all because we are unable to talk with each other and come to reasonable, agreed-to solutions which are to everyone's mutual benefit. The war of words is progress!

  • @LifeinSlowLane The stage lights bother his eyes. That's why he wears the shades.
