Introduction to Psytrance: Darkpsy

Darkpsy is a specific style of Dark Psytrance. But not all Dark Psytrance is Darkpsy. Confusing? Yes, but over the years people use the term Darkpsy for this specific style you can listen to the video.
Darkpsy as we know it first developed around 2000 by artists like Parasense and Xenomorph. Of course these artists have been influenced by darker Goa/Psy tracks before them. Although Darkpsy is considered to be more underground than other Psytrance genres it has a large following.

Darkpsy has a monotonous bass, many effects and higher tempos. The melodies are rare, instead melodic patterns are created by the effects and the weird sounds.
Not all Darkpsy are really ''dark'', but they are better suited for the late hours.
