Davie Forbes is massively underrated! I'm not a lover of trance but his basslines sound really raw and rough where as his melodies are crisp and clear and full of emotion! A combination that always brings me back to hear what hes doing next.

Dont beat yourself up about it man, its just my opinion. Trance - however - peaked in 97 through to 98, this is widely taken as a fact.
