Thanks Ingrid, for putting this up! There is so little of Jack to be heard. Hearing him sing on PORTRAIT OF JACO was cool. Cliff: Sorry to hear of your wife's family misfortune. I lived in Tokyo for a couple of years. My nephew has been there since '09. I saw Jaco play in Shinjuku on 6/24/80. Still have the program. One set and it was greatness! SRO... We were on the front rail of the balcony where I snapped some pics.

i seem to remember the cordovox, someone pls refresh me what was it?

@cliffworks4321 Yes, it is Kenny Duca on the Cordovox, who died around the age of 30. Kenny plays all the melodic/harmonic material, including the bass lines. All the tracks they recorded that day were done in one take. The whole session was about an hour long. (1961)

@IPastorius hey is that you Ingrid? Cliff here in Tokyo, we survived the quake tsunami, wife's mom did not, dad has been found in a shelter, many other relatives still missing, then we had another shock last night; Knucks out in LA has heart disease and is hanging on. btw In the 70's I used to play with Tommy Gumina one of world's top jazz accordionists and founder of Polytone Amps, with Art Pepper.

@cliffworks4321 Yes, Cliff, it's me....I am so, so very sorry to hear about your Mother-in-law, I feel so bad for your wife, and all your family members affected. It is quite sad for Japan, and the whole world what has happened, breaks my heart. I send you all much peace and strength. Hearing about Knucks saddens me as well, I just sent him a message via FB, man...life sucks sometimes. Please stay well among all this hardship, let me know if there is anythng I can do. Please stay in touch.
