@DerAdventurer If Vergès refused to defend him, someone would have (anyway he had 2 other lawyer), and everyone would spit on his face. So i think that behind the criticism of Vergès and the way he defend him, there's a criticism of Vergès himself and the nazi. I don't know if you understand, because I'm french.. my english is not very good.

I want to be clear : I don't like the Nazi BUT I think that Vergès did a great thing by defending Barbie. Vergès is a man of justice, no matter who.

You say "anyone have the right of a lawyer". I think that's the end of discussion. Of course I hate the Nazis and what happens during the WW. And I don't think that Vergès is defending them (there ideology). I think he had courage to defend Barbie, becausse he was a Resistant, and he knew the consequences. By the way he did not defend the Nazi but Klaus Barbie. And he was the scapegoat of the Nazi. I'm not trying to minimize his acts !

@superyab LOL, you cant say a thing on youtube without getting 'fired' (in the real meaning of shooting). Of course they had the right of a lawyer. The QUESTION is that, whoever did accept to defend them - by knowing they were GodDamnGuilty - should have principles to analyze the situation and, according to those principles, to refuse it. I mean, I would NEVER defend a Nazi. Would you? Surely not, I believe. Then, if he did, we have the right to point how low is his own belief in truth.

@DerAdventurer I don't know what to think about you... Are you ignorant or stupid ? Jacques Vergès was a Resistant. He was fighting againt the Nazi... After that he became a lawyer. What's the problem ? Are you blaming him for doing his job ? Even the Nazi needed a lawyer, whether you like it or not.

A chaque fois que je l'écoute, je vois toujours quelqu'un de sage. Ce mec est un monstre d'intelligence et de sagesse. J'ai l'impression d'être plus intelligent à chaque fois que je regarde ses interventions. Ca m'amuse beaucoup les gens qui veulent l'envoyer en enfer... C'est un avocat (brillant), donc il défend des gens. A chaque fois qu'on critique Me Vergès, pour ses clients, on ne fait que remettre en cause la fonction d'un avocat.
