  • @irelandswind Here is another question to ponder What about all the Country/Southern Rockers that came from Florida such as: Slim Whitman, Mel Tillis, John Anderson, Billy Dean, Clint Daniels, Aaron Tippin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, The Outlaws, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers? As a matter of fact, Southern rock was born in Florida! ( Sweet Home Alabama & Free Bird ) The most famous songs ever.

  • @irelandswind Of the nation's total Hispanic or Latino population, 49% (21.5 million) lives in California or Texas. Not counting Puerto Rico — which is a Commonwealth of the United States — New Mexico is the state with the highest ratio of Hispanics, 44.7%. Next are California and Texas, with 35.9% and 35.6%, respectively.. ( Frowns ) I guess Texas isn't Dixie either ?

  • I've just realized that this is very VERY alike to the theme tune to Prisoner Cell Block H. Actually, it's near enough the same, or am I imagining it?

  • @hippytripin65 If your history reflects what you believe to be Dixie, then kudos to you. I hope it does OUR history justice.

  • @hippytripin65 I'm sorry, darlin'...I don't understand much of what you said. As for me bashing where someone else is from, your misunderstanding what I said is forgiven. The spirit of Dixie is not what Floridians claim it to be, not what they have turned it into down there. Just because you listen to country music, fly a rebel flag, and wear boots does not make it Dixie. Southern, yes...so southern in fact that Florida is considered a Latin majority state, but not Dixie.

  • @irelandswind Being as you just stayed a while in Florida You do not think Florida is part of What is considered Southern Belles , Grits and Manners. Ujstlost didn't give the history lesson of South I did. In fact Look it up the history of the South... Seems like manners were not taught in Alabama to bash where someone else is from.Dixie is in the heart..Speaking my mind just like a true Southerner.

  • @ploska92 You know what you are right.. Dixie is in the heart no matter where you are from..Merry Christmas Ploska92...

  • @salsahound2424 I live in McMinnville myself, and I agree, it's hard to beat Tennessee.

  • While living in PA, this song always made me sad and made me realize that all I really cared about was still in Tennessee. The people in PA are great and the state is beautiful, but it "ain't" the south, a very special place with special people, great traditions, dialect and a pride that exceeds anywhere I have ever lived. I finally made it back to Dixie and I don't ever plan on ever leaving her again. Merry Christmas from McMinnville, TN!

  • merry christmas from harrisonburg va hope every one is good
