sometimes, as i drive, i notice sceneries--it helps me stay awake. most of the time it's city life; architecture, pedestrians, other automobiles speeding somewhere to unknown destinations. & sometimes it's these hills. brown and barren, on the way to las vegas, or green with lush foliage, in my neighborhood.
as they whir past in a blur i would wonder: what would it be like to walk up these hills? they look so accessible. why would they be fenced off from the general public? what's on the other side? i mean, probably houses, but... you just wonder: when you're up there, what can you see besides the freeway you just came from?
and then, between these hills are valleys. i would imagine these valleys being very nice nests for whatever creature that happens to dwell there. then, i'd wonder if anybody actually lives in them.
it would certainly be nice to be able to park my car somewhere next to these hills, and transport myself by the way of my legs to reach the apex. there, i can distance myself away from the city, and obtain a nice view of the sky and the horizon, despite the fact that i am acrophobic.
but on this day, March 16th, 2011, i walked up a hill. and it was gorgeous. although i did not reach the apex--actually, i did reach some sort of apex. but when i got up there, i realized that there was another hill to climb. and, there'll always gonna be hills to be climbed. i'm never going to get to the top.
