That worked perfectly for me. (Under Mac OSX Lion, iTunes 10, with CD ripping settings set to ACC instead of MP3, and with 'show extensions' active in Finder options)

Yeah.. this basically doesn't work on windows. There's no way to change the file type to m4r..

to get the ringtones or tones in your list, you have to change to m4r and double click on it

i have done all the things but when i copy the cut song to desktop, it just have the song name. behind there dont have ".m4a". and i can't change the song type to m4r

Weird,the extension doesn't appear to me,I just put the ".m4r" there,and it doesn't work.When I look at the properties of the 40 sec part,it says it's a ".m4a" but meh.What can I do to solve this?

Honestly it didn't work at all. I rename it to m4r and it Isnt a file type, there's ringtone section, Half the stuff he did didn't work for me
