Forgiving A Killer

Cindy Winters, the wife of an Ill. pastor murdered during a Sunday sermon spoke to Julie Chen about forgiving the man who killed her husband.

Say what you will about her. She loves Jesus and that's enough for her and to offer forgiveness to her husband's killer.

I'm not religious in any way at all ... yet this attitude of forgiveness is something I greatly admire. I always try to forgive those who "trespass" against me ... it is hard. I'm not sure I could forgive someone if they were to kill my spouse - but I like to think I'd try.

I'm really happy she has so much love in her heart....but I still find it odd that she speaks about this with a smile for the first few minutes. I'd be in tears....Either way, kudos to her

@hasngel Forgiveness means letting go of anger towards another or yourself. It doesn't mean you don't hold the other accountable.

amazing women- only threw God can such forgiveness be accomplished by a human being. without it will be impossible to give such amazing forgiveness.

thats a difficult thing to do, especially when the killer dont think you'll get revenge

forgiveness is a weakness of mankind, not a strength. People forgive because they are too weak to fight for their rights or dignity. That's why so many people are used and abused by their own family over and over. One should never forgive someone for something like this; it's all bullshit that you have to forgive, just because you don't forgive doesn't mean you'll act on it. Way too many sheep in this world.
