Today Saturday 23rd July 2011 Amy Winehouse died in her home in North London.
She was a tortured soul that faced many hardships in her short life and it was this that took her from us too soon.
There are many things that you can say or dispute when it comes to Amy but one thing that cannot be denied is what an amazing and gifted talent she really was.
At her best there was nobody that could beat her and she sang with such heart and emotion that every word in every song had it's on purpose, it's own reason for being there.
She was introduced to us with her debut album Frank which won her a Mercury Prize for best album and gave us a glimpse at the genius that would follow. Her second and last album Back to Black sold over 4 million copies and won her 5 grammys, making her the first Brit to do so. She has paved the way for such artists as Adele who are now taking their music across the pond and succeeding so well.
So remember when people are questioning her death that addiction is a disease and no matter how you look at it she was just a young girl, a lost soul who was taken from us far too soon.
Rest in peace now Amy and I hope that you can be content now.

Lord please help us do more to reach out to the precious souls across the world, known or not, that are addicted and need Jesus's help and healing! Amy was a real person, not just a celebrity, shame on us for mocking celebrities instead of praying for their souls.
