@magicklorelai I think this video might be the first where you've sung for an extended period of time. Hopefully this doesn't sound like I'm kissing your backside overmuch, but you have a really lovely singing voice. Exceptionally melodic. (Chuckle) Though, for a short moment, you sounded a bit like GlaDOS in "Still Alive." ;-)
@Maverynthia I mentioned it because it made it difficult to read what you were saying, not because I see myself as better than you.
As for the rest, I'm done engaging with you on the subject. *shrug* Congratulations, you've proven you care far more than I do about the joking misuse of a word. I give up, you win, blah blah, we can go back to our regularly scheduled program.
@magicklorelai Ah the good old "Your grammar is bad, your spelling is bad, I'm better than you" dismissive response. I'd not think you'd pull that one out, considering how low brow it is. I thought wrong I guess.
I'm just going to leave it at: You sound like the very people you mock; English is kinda bigger over there than just a course in school; Why so defensive of someone teaching you word usage?
@Maverynthia ...I couldn't parse your comment very well. Your English grammar has been consistently pretty bad.
The thing is, they probably retain English about as well as any American retains their required language classes in middle school. Some go on to study it seriously, others learn just enough to cover their tests, then forget it all later. They make identical mistakes in English all the time, and many are certain they're still saying it right.
@magicklorelai There isn't enough space in a YT comment to adress YOUR super-defensiveness in pointing out that your using it wrong and "hey, maybe you want to use it in a right way" but nope "I don't care about using it in a right context so I sound exactly just like those cat ear wearing people who DO say 'I don't actually know/speak Japanese'." and "Japan uses English too!" which they learn a bit of English and grammar VS "I know a few phrases."
@magicklorelai I also agree about the language issue. I live in Istanbul, Turkey, i am not a native speaker of English and here the names of many stores are English. Today English has become an international language and, as you pointed out , people think it sounds cool and ostentatious. This is a deep and long cultural, sociological and psychological issue that is hard to debate here.I took your Japanese words as a joke and you do not need to fully know Japanese to use some words
While the "abomination" comment Aveline made wasn't cool, Anders calling her a despot sure wasn't either lol.
