Anchor charged felony death- victim's brother reacts

News anchor Tolly Carr was charged Friday, April 20, 2007 with felony death by vehicle in the drunk driving incident March 11 which killed Casey Bokhoven. Tolly Carr turned himself in and has chosen to remain in jail until sentencing. Sean Bokhoven, Casey's brother, reacts to the new charge and puts a face on the grief that one family has endured.

Tolly Carr was also charged with driving while impaired in the accident Sunday, March 11, 2007, which took the life of Casey as he stood on a sidewalk in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Carr has also been charged with felony serious injury by motor vehicle in relation to his co-worker and passenger Fjola Wilson. Also, the DA is still not releasing Tolly Carr's blood alchohol test results citing their release to the public could jeoparize Carr's right to a fair trial. Tolly Carr issued a direct apology to the Bokhoven family, mentioning Casey by name. He is now in jail, and has no plans to post his bond of $100,000 because he says he doesn't deserve to be able to do that. Carr's next court date is May 9.

Casey Bokhoven, age 26, was violently struck and killed by a pickup truck as he stood on a sidewalk waiting for his girlfriend. The truck, driven by WXII (Winston-Salem, NC) morning anchor Tolly Carr,vaulted over a small wall and hit Casey at 30 mph, dragging him 22 feet, hitting a building and coming to rest with Casey under the wheel. The incident occurred Sunday, March 11, 2007 around 3:40 AM. Charged with DWI, Carr admitted he had been drinking and warrants detail that he refused a Breathalizer test. Blood was taken from Carr, and the results of blood-alcohol tests have not yet been released to the public as of this date (April 20, 2007).
