At 6:00 am on March 26 a fire broke out at a commercial building on Voyageur Way and Simpson Rd in Richmond BC. Blocked doors and unnapropriate stowage slowed down the fire crew's offensive attack. Flames spread inside the structure and through the roof within 30 minutes. Firefighters battled the 2 alarm blaze for over 5 hours.
lets go chuck norris on the fire!
btw they are doing everything according to how its supposed to be done, remove the spreading risk and limit the damage cooling nearby building. and just let the flammable materia take care of itself. firediving is only made to save lives. buildings are not that valuable.
on the other hand the firebrigade seems to be doing nothing, but notice theyre all geared up and ready in case the situation becomes uncontrollable.
Sad part that the fire did spread.

Frustrating to watch.

Say what you want, they are standing around doing not much.
Remember someone owned that building and business and people lost their jobs and livelihoods.

Where is the so called "fight"?! Not shown in the filmed sequence, anyhow. Or, is anyone trying to suggest anything else? Can You see any water cooling down the heat? Well, my friend - that's the "fighting" part, normally.

these comments are hilarious because obviously you guys dont know shit. ever heard of fireload (plastic filled boxes stacked 8ft)... fully involved. Early morning, no occupants; end result only 30% of the building was lost... NOONE HURT OR PERISHED. As for "standing around" you don't just run into a building without a fire action plan, which your command will tell you. But judging by your comments you have no idea what that means. My dad was captain of the first station on site, read up.

Why NOT to use PPV Fans for fire attack....

OK, I was there, here is what happened. First: The guys that are supposedly "standing around" are actually the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) who are too rescue any downed FF. Second: You cannot just lob water haphazardly on a fire, initially there were 2 attack teams inside. Once they were pulled out, exterior attack was the only option. Before you critique a fire you were not at, maybe have some Firefighting knowledge, and maybe dont always judge what a few snipits of a video show.

I've seen too many firefighters just standing around while a building is burning and finally get their "orders" and start fighting.... but in the cases I've been at, it takes longer to start fighting the fire than dialing 9-1-1 and having the firetruck pulling on scene. Several others say your fire department sucks, I have to agree with them in this case. Perhaps this is a bad situation, although.

wow is all i can say this hole thing could have been stopped if the first engine put some water on the first breakout before it spread!! you guys suck!
