Our first gig with the final lineup.
Richard Cranium was one of the most bad-assed bands to emerge from the Centex music scene in the mid 1990's. All the members had met as active duty soldiers at the nearby Ft. Hood in 1993. They were soon known as a brutally tight and energetic band that had a habit of destroying other bands they shared the stage with.
RC went on to open up for such bands as Matchbox 20, Sevendust, and Coalchamber. They also co-headlined two performances with the then fairly unknown Larry the Cable Guy. He was, at the time, an morning DJ on the local Austin ZROCK affiliate.
RC broke up late in 1997 and the four members have gone on to various adventures:
Michael "Mikey" Dye - vox & guitar - is currently a coal miner in KY
Bryan Teague - Lead Guitar - is a computer geek in TX
Jack "Jackie" Canaday - Drums & Percussion - is currently serving as a Master Sergeant in the Marine Corps Explosive Ordinance Disposal, he runs some kind of explosion machine...
Roger "Ogre" Shattuck - Bass - is currently serving as an Army Band Bass guitar player

As of early 2011, Richard Cranium has reunited in the virtual world. Through the technology of the Internet we are again making music.

Check out our Facebook Page for news updates and other assorted odd banter.

Thanks for stopping by,
Richard Cranium

  • @jrturner1021 Wow, good to know my old haunt still stands! I pounded the hell out of my liver many times there in the 1990's!

Look us up on Facebook too!

  • Glad to see you guys back together. I watched this gig. I didn't know what you guys ended up doing. I bought O'Malley's the following year and it has been going strong since. We have had a few bands back since and a few solo's. But none compared to you guys.

    Jim
