  • You guys are great.

Second post and you go Nazi Research and Dog Breath, what's wrong with us annexing a bit north and south? We do that occasionally.

    Cordially,

    Uncle J

  • This dude is a C.I.A paid opperative. He does not mention the lies to go to war (I.E. the downing street memos). He does not talk about the hundreds of millions going to private security companies who's stock has grown by 600 percent and in which most politicians own stock. This guy is a lying douch bag. Don't listen to him.

  • A douch bag? Glad to have you fact-checking me douche bag.

And I work for Rove not the CIA.

    Cordially,

    Uncle J

  • What a joke! With the constant criticisms the rightwing gave Generals Abizaid and Casey, it's a bit hypocritcal to complain now because someone other than a Republican is criticizing a general! It is not only permissible, but necessary, to criticize the competence of military leaders who are doing an extremely poor job in executing their duties!

  • I don't recall Abizaid and Casey catching much flak at all from the right.

If Reid thought Petraeus incompetent, why did he vote to confirm him?

    Cordially,

    Uncle J

  • we need to get those assholes out of tcongress next year!

  • FREE THE PENDELTON EIGHT NOW!!!!

  • Listen up...I am a Gulf War Vet (a decorated one at that). You really need to stop watching the news that your watching.I used to believe the same way you do.This war does not keep us safer. We should not have gone there.Hey remember that bin laden guy? Many forgot in this administration.Oh yea I'm a registered republican. Our foreign policy completely screwed up.

  • Just a question: what does pro family values mean? If it means being anti-abortion and anti-gay then I disagree entirely - but then you might expect that given that political opinion on these issues is completely different in the UK.

  • How has being in Iraq "defined" the Iran problem in a way we didn't know before? As for "effete" Europeans, I can tell you as a British citizen that one way that the US won't get any help is by insulting its allies. Particularly given that the majority of British citizens now believe they were sold the war on the basis of a lie.

  • Again, I disagree, because there's simply a limit to the resources available. I would argue the correct course is to define the priority objective and go with that - it's a neo-con fallacy to suggest you can solve all these problems at once. I'm also unclear as to what your final goal with (e.g.) Syria would be, and how you hope to achieve it.

  • That's where we disagree - I see very little evidence of a coherent political strategy in Iraq. Without it, any (laudable) successes will be wasted. It's a great pity that the Bush administration didn't put a great deal more thought into this before it started out.

  • I only claim to know the majority opinion of the Hollywood/NYU Lawyer left but probably 5% have a contrary opinion...this is a pretty monolithic group. As for me, not that it matters, but I am anti big business, extremely pro environment, pro centralized government planning, pro mass transit, pro increased support of the arts, but on the other hand pro family values and pro war. I have no party affiliations; my heroes range from Moynihan to Giuliani.

  • I believe being in Iraq has helped define the Iran problem (and would have been worth it for this alone) but I am also for increasing efforts against Iraq, Afganistan, Syria, etc. The only problem is antipathy from the left and the fact that little help from the effete Europeans means it is expensive for Americans.

  • Agree that "military solutions alone" are not adequate (if this means it is important to include activities other than combat by both the military and non-military). This of course is being done but there is always room for more, one imagines.
