Greenwald is a principled writer who critiques with equality the ills of the left and the right, the elite and the common person. Spend some time reading his blog at Salon, its worth the time.

I am not liberal in the modern sense, but I highly respect the intellectual honesty with which he writes.

@PerryLogan If you've read or heard anything (ever) from Greenwald, you'd know that he has raked Clinton and Obama through the coals for various reasons...all the time. He states frequently that the Democrats are just as entrenched in corruption, and his reason is both parties have veered from the rule of law. Stop projecting partisan 'gotcha' silliness on issues that affect us all. The national conversation needs to raise the bar.

Glenn's thesis does not work too well with Democrats.

Bill Clinton was immune to nothing. Anthony Weiner was not immune. John Edwards is clearly not immune.

I wonder what Glenn would say about this apparent exception. Are Democrats not part of the elite?

It would clearly kill Maddow to mention that Obama is participating in the evisceration of the Constitution and rule of law with his imprisoning of Bradley Manning and other dissidents, illegal assassinations of American citizens and continuation of Bush's illegal activities.

@MWcrazyhorse You would have to have a transition as with any major change. Repeal legal tender laws and capital gains taxes to allow people to save their money in gold and silver and to use gold and silver. The Constitution STILL says "No State shall...make anything but gold and silver legal tender in payment of debts.

I don't want to the US to run the world. We could do so just by having a free and prosperous economy,not occupying the globe.
