  • Ok wow thanks you cleared a lot of stuff up for me, at first I was looking into the klze swap but so much had to go into it , 350hp in that small car Ultimate sleeper

  • @25mars No problem, good luck with your project. You can also get similar results with a stock GT motor and custom turbo setup, you’ll want to rebuild it with stronger rods and pistons though if you’re aiming for higher than low 200’s. The 1.8 liter miata engine is also pretty much identical, so there’s a lot of affordable parts available.

  • So all gt models came with the non turbo version of this engine , and you just rebuilt the bottom end and top end on it and turboed the sh@t out of it.

  • @25mars Nope actually I pulled the stock engine out and put it in my other (stock) GT, since it had pretty low miles. I bought a complete GTR engine & turbo from one of those JDM engine import places and dropped it right into this car. It’s running on a Megasquirt II standalone EMS. The last time I had it dynoed I was at 320 hp. I have since added cams and re-tuned it, so it’s probably about 350 hp now…

  • dude very good job on the escort, but i was wondering the engine that you used you said it was gtr engine , now did that engine comes from a mazda 323 gtr and if so what year i have been trying to look this up but i have had no luck ,

  • @25mars Thanks! Yes, the engine is from a mazda 323 GTR. The escort GT came with a non-turbo version of this engine in it, so the GTR engine bolts right in (for the most part). The 323 GTR was available in Japan & Europe, ’92-’93 only if I remember correctly

  • hartford? were? i seen one in east hartford.....

  • so can anyone tel me if i can swap the 1.8 turbo engine from the 88-94 protege into a 93 escort... will it fit no problem.....btw....nice escort...truly a sleeper

  • @xtherieldealx Your car is a fucking piece of crap , no offence .

  • @fueledbymusic3 When you have a car that is highly modified like mine, it’s interesting to know how much power you are actually making. In stock form this escort will only put out about 100-110 horsepower on a dyno. This video is pretty old, I’ve since dynoed as high as 320 hp! Dyno’s are also very useful tuning tools, it’s much easier and safer to fiddle with a laptop while sitting on a dyno, rather than while actually driving around.
