I know - when I found out the subtext of that scene, I felt pretty upset. When I was younger I always assumed she was just doing it for her son.

Funniest bit of this movie has always been in the first ten minutes when Sally Field uses her son as an excuse to have sweaty sex. Basically the implication is that she needs to fuck the principle to get Forrest into a good school, but really she was just using the situation to her advantage because she's a filthy sex addict. And I mean, can't blame the principle - in her day, Sally Field would've been a good little fucker.
