@busterbone Ian Anderson isn't English. He is Scottish.

@stevelaw6673 sad but true, like your sense of humour as well.

drop down a few steps or pick another song. After all its not like they're short of material.

@stevelaw6673 I Must concur.

Anyone who likes this song can hear exactly the same progression on Hotel California by The Eagles, which they 'coincidentally' wrote just after touring as Tull's support act!

someone is screwing his voice

Ian's voice has been criticized for some time now; it definitely has been affected by four decades of relentless touring and perhaps poor technique. But as I see it, there are 3 main options: 1) Go on like this and rely on the affection of the majority of true fans; 2) Stop singing in public altogether - except for an occasional show - and hope medical science and rest can restore a little of his voice; 3) Have someone else sing, which to me is unconscionable, given Ian's place in history.
Ian Anderson is the genius of Rock and Roll, and just to see him on stage and still singing and playing is an enormous blessing. True survivors. The voice may be changed, strained, but it's still Ian Anderson. Rock on Ian!

Ian's voice isn't the one "we used to know", but I applaud his and Martin's effort in still performing great songs from the early Tull days-like this beauty. Younger musicians may have stronger voices, but what they call music nowadays on the radio, satelite and internet is absurd and complete shite compared to the classic rock we used to know thanks to legendary guys like Sir Ian and the old English boys of his class.
