  • That lead engine is a smaller version of the N&W J-Class 4-8-4. BTW: There was once a wide-gauge 4-8-4 that looked like a Pennsy T-1 that I haven't heard about for a while. Is that one still running?

  • You might be thinking of the south australian 520 class, they were 5'3" gauge. The one that was running is at steam ranger at Mount Barker.currently not running. thanks for looking

  • Excellent!!!

  • NOOO FUCK THIS RHE N&W J CLASS 611 IS THE BEST LOOKING. Dont believe me? Look it up. 611 is also way faster

  • @RDG484 If it's a smaller version of the J-class, how come it's not a 4-8-4?

  • @cuza1989 - Nope, 3801 was made by Clyde Engineering, while 3830 was built in-house by the NSWGR at their Chullora Workshops, unless I'm mistaken.

  • Saw 3801 in Singleton in '88...beautiful...

  • 3801 is a magnificent locomotive

  • Best looking locos in my opinion are the Great Western Castles.

  • nope. either the black prince or 4449 daytime

  • Best looking steam train? Although I like this loco that is debatable

  • @sparkygl0s Have to agree. For Aussie read American. In the US they built them for power, not looks.
