The Bradley County community is morning the loss of a 13-year-old girl. This after the car she's riding in crashes into a utility pole killing her on impact.Close friends and family are calling the girl's death tragic and unthinkable Many reaching to her family through Facebook offering them prayers and words of support. For those who had a chance to teach who family members say is 13-year-old Alexis Pagan, the news of her passing is tough to bare.I was in true disbelief. I didn't want to know that that was the truth. We received the phone call last night, says Deborah Norton.Almost a week ago today was the last time Deborah Norton saw 13-year-old Alexis Pagan. Pagan attended church at New Salem Baptist for more than two years.I remember a very genuine, sincere honest young lady, says Norton.Friday Pagan's life came to an abrupt end after police say the driver of the car she was riding in, who police identified as Shawn Toll, lost control and crashed into this utility pole on Bryan Circle. The adult driver and another teen were taken to local hospitals. Pagan was pronounced dead on the scene.I called her cell phone cause that's how we normally get in touch with her to know if we need to pick them up on Sunday. I heard her voice. It began to get harder and harder to make the phone calls because I felt like I already knew what had happened but I wanted that reassurance to make sure but she will truly be missed, says Norton. The next day yellow flowers and remnants of the crash are all that remain in this Bennett Acres neighborhood. A painful reminder of a 13-year-old girl many say was taken way too soon. We're not saying goodbye. We're honoring her life and the things and decisions she made and how she impacted everyone in such a positive way, says Bartlee Norton.New Salem Baptist Church will be holding a vigil Saturday night at 8:15 pm to honor Alexis and her family where they will be collecting donations for Pagan's funeral costs. If you can't make it Saturday but would like to donate, you can go to their church located at 1755 Ladd Springs Road in ClevelandBy Alyssa Spirato
