  • I have a tear that's a little over half an inch in this same spot. Any idea how to prevent it from happening to the other side?

  • I have no idea on how the tear can be prevented. Maybe Honda can reply to the question. I can say however, that I was fortunate enough to ensure that Honda resolved the issue at no cost to me. Also, I am almost certain that Honda has noted this as a manufacturer defect.flaw. I do hope this helps.

sorry for late reply, i usually dont check my youtube mails.

i bought it from big5, it should be next to the fishing /tent areas, a small tooth paste like glue with a brush.

  • Also, make sure you guys clean and condition your tops when you wash your car.

  • The white 04 S2K on my page that I used to own before my sorry ass wrecked it had this problem on both sides but my 04 black S2k doesn't have this problem. The only tear it has is on the top of the drivers side, which I'm on Amazon.com right now looking for a repair kit for it. I've seen this happen to many S2K's unfortunately. Honda did a great job on this car but when it came to the top they didn't do so well. Oh yeah and bring back the Prelude! lol.

  • @barrybaok Where did u buy the seam grip glue from? I am in need of some.. Thank you for being helpful

  • I cringed when u put the top down this just happened to me and I'm so fucking angry

  • @ThePaperball11

well...it depends where u are...here in pakistan, you can get one built from fiber glass for dirt cheap (no exaggeration)...although when i was in canada, i did see a few with a hard top roof...i guess they just clip on or something...

  • My 01, which I bought new, doesn't have this problem and is still perfect after all these years. Maybe because it lives in a garage.

  • is there any way to get a full roof for this vehichle??

  • I had this problem on my 07 s2000. Its two things. One is the elastic band that retracts the center bar on the roof ( the only elastic thing) and the second thing was when honda made the braces that pass right through the spot that you tore, it left ruff edges. you have to sand it down. i was on my third roof and it just started to show wear when we I figured this out. Try it. look at the spots where the rips touch the metal bracing. its one of those that caused that !

  • 3 tears total on mine.i got this glue for tents.. its called " seam grip" . it works PERFECTLY! strongly recommended.

    direction:

    1. tape the tear , tape the outter roof.

    2. the glue comes with a small brush, brush the glue around the tears from inner roof, u can do it alittle bit thicker .

    3. wait for .. maybe a night or so, the glue turns into rubber kind, it bonds the tear very well. and once its dried up, peal the tape, done
