In the Bellator Summer Series Light Heavyweight Fianl, Attila Vegh dropped long time MMA veteran Travis "Diesel" Wiuff with a vicious overhand right hook that stunned Wiuff and sent him to the mat. Vegh followed with a number of additional shots before referee Jason Herzog put an end to the fight just 25 seconds into round 1. With the win, Vegh has now earned the right to face reigning Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion Christian M'Pumbu for the Bellator Light Heavyweight Title.

I did. Ever since Vegh beat Marcus Vanttinen I've thought Vegh has big things in store for him. Vegh will go on to beat the shit out of M'Pumbu and reign in Bellator for a long time. Too bad we'll never see how he does against the top guys of the world because he can't fight in the UFC.

Yea he has a good chance against Vegh but he definitely is gonna have a hard time against King Mo/Babalu if he faces them. LHW division in Bellator just went from literally one of the weakest to one of the strongest after those two signings.

I thought he shouldn't have be in the final anyway, because Emanuel Newton was robbed against him. But I'm glad for Atilla and it was a sick KO. I think everyone was hoping but not many expecting for Atilla to KO Wiuff.

Well M'Pumbu is counting his days as the first 205 lb. champ for bellator. I think he'll get past Vegh, but fights with King Mo and Sobral are on the horizon. Not looking good for him.

That may be the best possible solution, especially once they land on Spike in 2013, who will definitely support them having more shows more often.

True but you have to keep your champions active in the wake of having them sit and wait on potential challengers. Which is why i'm glad they are now having more tourneys and wanting their champions fight/defend 3-4 times per year. eliminating the "superfights".

You might be right but that's the problem - we'll never know now. I respect Bellator and Bjorn for sticking to their guns and only giving tournament winners title shots - and yet I wish that when their champs lost non-title fights the winner would get an immediate title shot. Either that or don't have your champs in non-title fights.

I don't believe he'd have beaten M'Pumbu with the title on the line anyway. I'm looking forward to this fight with Vegh against M'Pumbu. Neat to see 2 Euro's fighting.

His contract was signed before Bellator had a champion's clause.
