This is part of a Los Angeles Times interactive map showing illegal dumping hot spots and arrests in South Los Angeles, This alley is a frequent target of violators who dump refuse on public property. In 2008, city taxpayers paid $12 million to clean up illegally dumped rubbish, half of it in South L.A. The refuse includes dead animals and oil and paint, which contribute to pollution in area waterways.
