Portland's Winter Storm (Part 1)

Winter weather gripped Portland this last weekend, but at first the whole thing looked like it was going to flop. I put together this video-journal chronicling my anticipation, disdain and eventual joy over the winter weather. In it, I express my disgust toward the failed wind storm on Friday, again vent my frustration over the lack of snow on Saturday, but then show my appreciation for the lovely snow on Sunday. I also mock the news for their typical shenanigans and chastise the general public for their ineptitude.

See, what we need is a good solid 3 months of this kind of weather - no breaks - and then people here just might learn how to manage life in winter, how to co-exist with snow and ice. Until then, these people just don't get it...

I suppose that you have never been in Montreal, ,Edmonton, Winnipeg or Toronto in February.

If so, you would not see an icicle until March, as an icicle needs a little thaw and then a freeze to be created.

No, I think it's rediculous that everyone freaks out because of a few inches of snow. I personally have no problems driving in snow until it becomes too deep for my car, as it did a week after this video (see the following parts).

I have also been through snowstorms in Minnesota that left 4 feet in 36 hours.

At 4:33 I gave up. If a movie doesn't grab me in the first 10 minutes, I know it will fail to entertain me, so never mind a clip at that point! This was seemingly created for effect. An amateur's attempt at it it, that is. An abortive one, I say. I lived in eastern Canada for eight years and totally get spinalzap's drift.
