She needs something to be really depressed (post-partum or whatever) over. Take her fat ass out to the North Pole and let her freeze to death. I can't imagine the heartlessness involved in letting a helpless infant die. Then for a mother to let her own child die is unforgivable.

OK, here's the thing I don't understand... The first thing that went through my mind was postpartum depression. This doesn't justify what she did, but it could be an explanation... But then... 3 times??? What the hell? Once you know what happened the last time, you get some psychological support, anything! Another thing could be pregnancy denial... But ... I kinda don't believe in it... Anyway...
