City Library Spokespuppet Earl E. Literacy interviews "Ranger's Apprentice" series author John Flanagan. They talk about John's new book, his connection to his characters, how his books connect to his family and how young writers can better plan their stories.
OK. Flanagan says the girls will like the future crossover character. Sounds like Gilan.
I'm still thinking Berrigan (certainly the most underused likeable Araluen character, after George Carter), or more practically, maybe Ulrich (quarter-page minor character in The Icebound Land) will have survived slavery in the yard and found his way into the Brotherbands. The geography fits, if the age would be a bit fuzzy. Could be made to work, though.
