A Video Diary | Greg Browning
In December 2007 Greg Browning, James Dowling, Clare Reddington and Toby Smith visited the district of Kambia in Sierra Leone to film 'Call Di Lifesaver!' a 30 minute film in Krio, the local language.
Working with local people as producers and actors, the film will be used by medical staff to sensitise local communities to use and trust a new fleet of motorcycle ambulances. This video journal captures some of Greg's experiences making the film.

My wife and I lived in Kambia from 1982 to 1984. Peace Corps Volunteers and VSO had been there for 20 years and remained until 1994. When we were there there was no running water, very rare electricity, and the hospital was a place to die (not to get treatment). We visited in 2008--still no water, power, etc. There was cell phone service anad a new bank. One comment in this series about being called "porto" -- this comes from ancient times when the Portugese were viewed as colonists!
