I saw this movie two years ago and even after dozens of movies on Netflix, this one is one of the 10 top ones by far. Incredibly moving, the sex scenes just underline the anguish of a love which is not supposed to be but is. In the end to see a feriocious man like him break down for love, but still incapable of living the consequences of it - which in the end is his curse. If he thought he wad dead before, imagine now, knowing her dead body is falling off the cliff as the clock strikes 10 pm.
I love this movie. I saw this movie at the Venice film festival in Italy and then saw it back in the states and they cut alot of the sex out of it the US version. It was stil very good.
I get too emotional at movies, but I remember sobbing in my car after watching this. It really broke the dams. Tony Leung, in a darker role than typical for him, was perfect. Tang Wei was a fantastic blend of innocence and scary maturity. A very good film.
I loved this movie, and i agree this movies sex scenes were not erotic at all, they were put in too convey the character devlopment, eg the first scene, Mr yee was absolutely brutal and controlling, but in the last one he completely let his guard down (even letting her be on top), that just makes the ending even more torturously sad, because he did love her T__T

Crouching Tiger was a bit gimmicky just because Hollywood hasn't seen a lot of Chinese martial arts films.
