"Here we find almost a whole orchestra; try to hear the flute, clarinet, trumpet...

I must admit I feel more like a conductor than an accordionist while playing this piece!"

- - -

Ole Schmidt (1928 - 2010) was a Danish composer, conductor, pianist, teacher and provocateur. His music is individual and direct. It shows a clear instrumentation, imagination and a refined sense of drama. It is based on the neoclassical tradition, with traces of Hindemith, Stravinsky and Bartok.

Schmidt's tendency to rhythmic energy and jazz-inspired harmonies make the music very attractive for the listener.
