Of all the places, I discovered this song on the Conan O' Brian show (he thought it was terrible)
but anyway, this song is a gem.

@emanuel319 actually, rumor has it Roy Wood lifted the melody for part of it from the bridge to Harry Nilsson's "Good Old Desk" from his 2nd album "Aerial Ballet" (1968) (the oo-wah oo-wah part). And of course Nilsson has numerous Beatle connexions (as does The Move's Jeff Lynne), so, yeah, I agree.
