nothing new in this story. smae old story of not being able to satisfy her she engage a servant and bears the fruit. hubby is happy to give the child his name and the servant is murdered or stuff like that. when indian filmmakers will learn to make some original, more contemporary and meaningfull films. useless

That scene is a vision, imagined by perhaps the Jamindar or maybe even the Brahmin.
The first wife obviously would never do this by her own will. No woman ever would, during that period at least. Hence consuming some local drug delivered by her maid, you can imagine would'nt be a difficult task to achieve. This was very common in a time when women would ''willingly'' oblige to commit things as heinous as sati. Don't forget she has been fasting days before she would meet the Brahmins.

in the ashwamedha yagna the queen didnt sleep with the horse what the hell......ye the horse was then sacrificed, and the queen had to lament ober that, but she didnt sleep with them...these preist are typical of the corrupted ones that you see all the time these days, they've lsot their spiritual purity:@.
Why does she look sick when she enteres the yagna room? and was she expected to sleep with tthem there?!

Dark ages my friend, every country has had them. Every single country has and some still are. Not tradition.
