@Frost3784 Yes, you have. He was and still is to this day one of the greatest writers of the modern age, not to mention artist and beyond in every right: poetry, painting, film, magickal exploration. He worked with and inspired artists from Test Dept. to Kurt Cobain, whilst being a constantly reoccurring character in the works of Kerouac, Ginsberg and beyond. He provided rye commentary on social, sex and drug rites of at least 2 generations. And so much more. Yes, you are insultingly wrong.

@Frost3784 It's not so much of a celebration as an interesting study on one of the great and most controversial writers of the 20th century.

@rxshea That doesn't answer my question.

Yes frost3784, you have missed something. I think you'll find most art- be it literature, music, or whatever - is a celebration of people flipping thier lids doing drugs. People looking to see something in a new way often alter thier perception. That doesnt mean YOU need to do drugs, but then you don't have to judge either.
@rhesusmonkeydave burroughs would have made an impact with or without the drugs it just would have been in a different way. His intellect was through the roof and his drug use didnt make him a great writer this did. He frequently wrote about how much he regretted trying heroin and how it plagued his entire life. He tried many different ways to quit and never could. I'm sick of people thinking that drugs made the person. Burroughs was a heroin addict pedophile, he was also one of the best writers
