@wesley9761 In reality no one can just "simply" whip up an new jet engine in a workshop from scratch, even if they have the plans for it. It would take many years of work to sort out and hundreds of thousands of dollars to re-engineer..Unless Frick means he's going to get a second-hand WR19 and just re-manufacture one of the turbines in it, he's just talking crap...

@wesley9761 All's i can say is my eye's don't lie. It flies right right through the middle of those branches but they barely move (other than when the pod brushes past them). There is meant to be 600lbs of thrust bearing down on top of them only 6 inches away from the nozzle but they hardly move. They "should" be blowing like crazy ? Maybe im just crazy...

@wesley9761 If this video was falsified and the X-jet couldn't actually fly then yes Williams would have to be at the front of it. One theory as to why they might do it would be to scam some research funding out of the government.. It could of also possibly been due to a tandem effort between themselves and the Pentagon to create a propaganda piece to spook the Russians at that time. Remember this all happened during the cold war period when crazy things like that did occur..

@ViperWK If it was "faked", it was done by Williams International, who provided the video to the USAF museum in Dayton, Ohio.

Here's another interesting observation..The dust cloud starts appearing "behind" the tree's (on the far side of them) at 0:26 , well before the X-jet flys actually over the top of that area. Also when the dust (at the rear) starts kicking up the X-jet is actually on the other side of the tree's ???

@southpawcg OMG your the stupid one mate. Listen to what your saying.. "Far more difficult to create a hoax".. Are you mad ?.. All you would need to do is just suspend it from wires underneath a helicopter. Easy as piss..The tree's have small thin branches you ignorant moron. What, 600lb's of thrust thats 30cm away wont move them ? Down draft is visible on the ground (behind the tree's) but the trees and branches directly under the X-jet aren't blowing around like they should. ?
-
@stewartpowerandlight I agree, the tree should be getting pounded with the jet nozzle right under it ...
-
Interesting.. It appears that the bottom of the X-jet's airframe actually hit's a small cluster of branches and fly's through them. These branches don't appear to blow around yet they are just inches away from the jet nozzle. ?? At the point where the airframe contacts these branches the blast force on the ground (below it) appears to be to the right, and not under it as it should be. ?

@don56texas US PATENT NUMBER 4,447,024, places the fuel tanks on either side of the X-JET and the 1974 WASP ONE is in the Video with the WR19-7 engine-weight 68 pounds which was used in the Flying Belt, the 1982 WASP TWO was equipped with the First generation F107 weight 115 pounds, the Wasp TWO has a "full Weight with fuel" just over 500 pounds, all patents have expired-now anyone can make the WR19-7 and the WASP I and WASPII.
Here is the US PATENT # 4,447,024 Williams Airborne Vehicle, if you want the Detailed Drawings and description Sam Williams provided go to "US PATENT OFFICE" and order your copy. the Patent was granted May 8th 1984 and expired in 2002, so now any one can make a WR19-7 engine and X-jet/WASP airframe, Building mine with Carbon Fiber instead of Aluminium.

@frickandfracksicem I'm interested in knowing how you are going to build the Wr19-7.

I don't think "naturally" is the correct word. ;-)

@TKnightcrawler
The word "logically" probably doesn't belong there either.
