The year is 2104. For the past century, the world has been ravaged by war and disaster. Radiation colors the skies, and a red chemical mist hangs over miles of lifeless land. Government as we know it has been destroyed. Civilization has devolved to a time of feudal states and martial law. Welcome to the New Reality. Across the former United States of America, now known simply as Deathlands, powerful tyrants have set up makeshift kingdoms, oppressing and enslaving the remaining survivors of the 21st century... except for a heroic few. Ryan Cawdor, his beautiful mutant girlfriend Krysty Wroth, the deadly J.B. Dix, and the lethal albino teenager Jak Laurent are the hope for a reborn future. Nomadic by nature, they roam Deathlands in defiance of all who would take away their freedom. Based on the best selling Deathlands book series by James Axler.
I thought it was good... very close to the book on tape. I love these things on road trips... I once sat in the drive way for another 30 minutes after a 10 hour drive just to finish one of the DEATHLANDS. I would really like to see these made into a show on Sci-Fi...

They'd need more expensive sfx for the other books though, if they're going to show ruined cities, giant mutant monsters, CGI stickies, and armed land wag convoys.

I kinda like the movie better than the audiobooks, because even though they were seriously out of character for the movie, and the movie left out a bunch of stuff, it was still a very good movie. It gave the group a more family dynamic ideal. And I would definatly tune in for every new episode if this was a series on the Sci-Fi channel. ;)

they need to make one about the trader days... cause didn't Ryan join up with the Trader in 10 years (halfway between) and meet JB? That would be epic.

Sure, it wasn't the best film ever, but I could sure go for 88 more! There was a lot of the characters in these portrayals. Again, no it wasn't perfect, but this film would still mean something to a fan of the books.
Really, someone ought to make this a series on the sci-fi channel. It could be done, and obviously there's a LOT of material. ;)
