  • Hi Shailston2.....Thank you very much. So happy for you, your wife and your new daughter! The trip is such a magical time and an amazing experience! Your correct....it is a "beautiful thing".....and I hope and pray for your family to have a safe, healthy and blessed trip to China! Do share pics or video when you return! What province/city are you adopting from. Our daughter Lilly is from the city of Nanfeng in the province of Jiangxi....All the best to the three of you!!!

  • I don't care how these babies ended up in an orphanage. What's more important is that these babies now have a family that would love and care for them for the rest of their lives.

  • @GoldenShellback1 Amen Golden....You are correct. This is the bottom line!

  • I really hope you don't introduce her to people as "an orphan" when she's old enough to understand how you view her.

  • @oiuweroiuwer What? are you kidding me....How would you have a clue "how i view her". Simply stated I view her as my daughter. No different than my other 3 children. I can tell you have never adopted a child....Your ignorance shines through your statement.

  • She is such a beautiful baby. My wife and I will be going over to China next month for our adoption. This will be our first child. We have had our hearts set on adoption for awhile and knew we were being called to international adoption. It's a beautiful thing.

  • Hi LillyfromChina,

I understand your anger, it is perfectly normal to be defensive when faced with comments like mine. I actually am an adoptive parent and felt angry when I read countless people who worked at orphanages telling their stories. It does happen, directors do buy babies. Read Message From An Unknown Chinese Mother. We probably will never know the truth about our daughters' pasts.

  • @Treehuggindylanlover Really???? Treehuggin....you obviously have not adopted either. Directors buying babies? wow...yup...you have not adopted for sure because your statement could not be more ignorant. Please share with all of us your proof of this!! please....its one thing to make a blind statement and attempt to have people believe it as fact...it's another to provide FACTS and PROOF of your statement....so please...share with all of us your proof of this "baby selling" ...have you sold one?

  • @HJGranny

You are tactless, but you are somewhat correct. Orphanage directors more commonly engage in baby-buying, not baby-stealing. The difference is that the directors are making deals with the birth-families to buy their babies. Case in point: a finding ad is placed in a newspaper and the parents have two months to claim their baby.

  • @shailston2 ....Hi Shailston.Thank you! That's so exciting for you and your wife. I cannot describe to you in words the emotions of the Trip. The best way would be to say its "exactly" like you and your wife having a bio child the first time you will see your daughter. An amazing and wonderful miracle of love. Enjoy what is the most rewarding experience! There are some pics of our daughter today on my facebook page..Todd Johnson, LaGrange GA...All the best to you!
