is there a way to fix the cheksum of a game all the roms i download say fail and i cant play anything?

I would try to download the roms from a different source. Don't unzip the roms, open the zipped roms with zsnes.

In Ubuntu 7.10, switch from ALSA sound to OSS sound in system administration.

Is your asus eee running linux or windows?

It's dual boot. The original OS is on the internal drive (SSD) and Ubuntu 7.10 is on a 4GB SDHC card. Ubuntu runs very well on the EEE. ZSNES works much better after I changed the sound drivers to OSS.
