  • did it start, or did they have to use a second cartridge. think I was there and saw the same start attempt but failed to start on the first shot.

  • yeah, one engine started first time but the other heeded two shots

  • @pylwagl which, as I am told is quite costly at 150 pounds per cartridge

  • My father witnessed one guy in his squandron fire up an engine and a rookie ground crewman thought it was an engine fire and started trying to put it out. He also said it is a good idea to have the canopy down when starting an engine upwind.

  • i was there and its noisy with cartridges but you know u hear the woman say no it failed that was ma mum lol

  • I've never heard of a cartridge-start turbojet before. There were plenty of cartridge-start gas and diesel engines, though.
