Ok folks. I have been active in Theatre for over 20 years now and I came across this video a couple of days ago. This is me as the Scarecrow at the "Little Theatre" of Jamestown, or better known as today, The "Lucille Ball Little Theatre"s production of The Wizard of Oz performed back in 1987. This was my 3rd show at the theatre after high school and I thought that I would share it with you. I will accept all comments good and bad, but remember...the girl playing Dorothy was only 12 at the time and had a bit of influence in getting the part, and it was recorded 20 years ago using a mono camcorder. I hope you enjoy it!!

  • @TheLucian101 Just remember to have fun, you may want to where some knee pads, I did. Just be as limber as you can and be carefree with your movements. I didnt have any actual dance moves for my audition, but I did have some bruises afterwards, so dont be afraid to fall down!! hehe Break a leg and I hope you get the part!!!

  • @Trompthar lol you should she the audition i came up with... it made my ma fall off the couch laughing

  • @TheLucian101 just keep in mind, singing auditions are just a part of the entire role. Keep you head up and knock em dead with the performance part. If at all possible, get a video of your audition. If it knocked you off the couch, I would love to see it. Break a leg my friend.

  • @Trompthar Hey maybe ill put up the audition on youtube... lol well im gettin the cast list on monday.. btw i got two call backs.. one for the lion and one for the SCARECROW... YAY IM SO EXCITED they also asked me to sing were off to see the wizard! well i saw them nodding and smiling when i did the lion. but they wrote stuff down and smiled when i did the scarecrow! I wish I could read minds! Anyway just saying your performance/ act really helped me out. I'll tel u wat iget soon/ on monday. Thx

  • @TheLucian101 outstanding!! all the best my friend. Either way, Lion or Scarecrow.... my fingers are crossed for you!! Glad I could help out!!

  • So... I've been cast as the scarecrow for The Wizard of Oz (as our winter musical) and this video helped me more establish the character of my part. Thanks :)

  • Oh terrible!!!

  • I think some of you are being too hard on Dorothy, she may not have the greatest voice but she's good none the less and she is just a kid. I don't think she's that bad, but what did you mean she had a bit of influence for this role Trompthar?

  • Got the lion yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... just since there was too many ppl she mad there be lion cubs... watever ihope they dont get my funny lines

  • @Trompthar thx!!! i just heard the director asked another person to sing if i only had a brain :( :(
