Funny that those who pirate would not buy if they couldn't pirate - so the companies don't really "lose" anything they might have gained. This is just EVIL GREED at work.

Japan 's policy is no different - no matter how much some of you love the country they are WRONG.

It's funny because it's true. Your case is based upon bad assumptions and a fallacy of assuming deadweight loss is entitled profit. You can't actually establish actual harm done and you can't account for the correlation of piracy and growth.

Good luck in your future, though. Maybe you'll make someone people are willing to pay for.
