This is also one of the rarest footage from Gillan's solo carrer.
It was fimed on national Japanese Television in 1978.
And it turned out be the only footage of Gillan with that line up.

Ian Gillan: Vocals
Steve Byrd: Guitar
John McCoy: Bass
Colin Towns: Keyboards
Pete Barnacle: Drums

  • @Pedro14798R I was not there but have the audio from this show. Lucky guy you are!

  • Thanks to put this one on, my friend! I really love it and its very special because as far as I know the only video with Steve Byrd on guitar. Let me know if I'm wrong!

  • I agree with everyones posts here,Gillan certainly rocked harder than Purple ever did? Excellent mix of hard-rock,blues,and punk guitar, with THE best musicianship from its members combined with THE best rock vocalist. If you read the nme/melody maker/ etc of the day,and possessed the Future Shock album with attached scrap book? Then you`llknoe there was a word for Gillan-Itwas "Cock Rock Gone Mad"! Haha!

  • Stunning. Saw them at Barbarella's in Brum in the same year - no better rock vocalist.

  • great song. thanks for this rare version.

  • This band is just shit hot.Gillan rocked a ton harder than the Purple ever did.Raw rock at it's best, almost proto punk with classical overtones.Wild.

  • Very early Gillan..Pete Byrd on guitar..Bernie Torme' was still waiting for the call.

  • Thank you to share this fantastic video and thank you to all those who appreciated

this speed-rock-hard-punk peformance.. I don't know what is it and I don't care. What a voice Ian Had at this time. This band looks like a band of young and crazy

guys, having fun and such a good time!

  • Wow...it's like he was getting harder into punk? Never heard this before

  • WTF, this is Great, I love him singing like that>>>>>>>Great!!!!

Thanks Man for posting this excellent rare footage!!!!!
