  • I think should have used a car with abs because his braking couldn't have been consistent every time but abs would.

  • Uhh, the tyre/tire was invented by John Dunlop who was Scottish.

Me thinks YOU'VE got it wrong.

  • is it just me that likes the way he says POLO LOL

  • @benham3160 The main advantage that ABS possesses is that it requires no experience to use. Braking without ABS takes some practice, but it is something that every driver should know. ABS will fail in instances where all 4 wheels lock, like on snow and ice. It's just a nanny system designed so that the average 40-year-old in their minivan doesn't stomp on the brakes full force and lock their wheels because they don't know how to drive properly.

  • @benham3160 The most effective braking doesn't involve 300 adjustments per second. It involves a constant, firm braking force with 15% tire slip. That is something that computer technology cannot achieve, which is why it resorts to the rather crude brake-skid-release-brake-skid-release system that is ABS. And you can turn without ABS just as well as you can with it, so long as you're not a twit who locks up the tires. ABS is slower on dry and wet pavement, snow, and gravel.

  • @fidgetingfinch No, I can't think of many cars where the driver has the potential to modulate each wheel several hundred times a second. I doubt there are many people on this planet who could outbrake an ABS system whilst keeping steering control if a child runs out on them, in the wet..... Driver stops on a wet motorway and you're just a yard too close..... No, you won't be able to modulate the brakes and maintain control anywhere the same as a microcomputer modulating 300 times a second.

  • When was this filmed? I spend £60 per tyre on my car and that's for the economy type

  • @stanbernadino No, because abs is for pussies who don't know how to brake properly.

  • @Ferrari73703 HAHAHAH are you serious?

  • In my previous comment I mentioned that our car is 2.5 tonnes and when you have a car that heavy you need good tyres. Especially for difficult conditions. We bought them and they came with a really deep tread.

  • We have a VW Touareg with 19" rims and we recently had our tyres changed at Kwik-Fit. Our car with it being a 4X4 has got massive wheels. Like I said 19". But the tires have to be specially designed for our car. We opted for Bridgestone as there was 25% off all sizes of Bridgestone tyres. Despite the 25% off they came to a unbelievable £700. So without the offer they would of been over £1,000. Yes I know it comes with the territory because it is a 4WD. But it is 2.5 tonnes of car.

  • What a MASSIVE waste of food! I don't think they know about what is happening in Somalia right now.
