Slipped Away

Story:
I had a horse named Poco. He was a 3 year old Quarter Horse Paint and I got him with my mom in August 2006. So we bought him, brought him to a barn, moved him to another, etc. Things didn't work out at first, because he was really, as I put it, 'too intelligent for his own good'. So, we think about selling him. We move him to another barn, and things go well there bonding-wise.
But things start happening. First he gets a form of rain rot, then he gets 'digestion problems' (richer hay because of move), then he knicks himself and gets an infection on his front hoof.
But on Friday, October 27th, something happened. My mom went out to exersize him in the round pen cause he was better from his foot infection. She leaves for five minutes, and she hears Poco neighing in distress. She comes out and sees him panting, sweating and hobbling on three feet. Apparently he broke his back leg, so she had the vet come out and put him down.
I only know Poco for 2 months, so I didn't get many pictures (as I said in the credits). I repeat many images over, but that's cause of the lack of them... mainly the three from my visit before buying and the others in a ring and standing are from when we were trying to sell him.

Things started going better, but he died. He was only 3, and once things started to work out, I started dreaming. All that shattered the moment he shattered his leg, and we don't even know how he did so (we, mum and I, suspect the horse next to the round pen spooked him as usual, cause he's a young warmblood, really spirited and tried to distract all horses being exersized, but when Poco got the needle, they were nuzzling...)
I have like, no pictures of me with Poco, so I had to stick myself in there in other ways... (the two pictures with people, the first one with the garden is me in July 2006, and the other is with my mom and me on the Disney Cruise we went on with the rest of my family in February 2004, we both owned him, he was our first horse).

He's gorgeous! I'm sorry he had to go in such a tragic way, and far too young. Don't blame yourself though, accidents happen, there's just no avoiding it.

If i ever lost my horse Fancy i wouldnt know what to do she is my best friend, but i know how you feel i lost my first pony i didnt even get to say godbye to her we got a call that she had coliced really bad and was going to be put down and we needed to hurry over to the stables but by the time we got there she was already gone :(

thats so sad... i almost cried :( i feel so sorry! thats like my new born foal Boots... i met him once... he died at 3 days old... i loved him before he was even born... and like i said... i had only met him once!... when he passed away... i cried myself to sleep for a week.... its strange how you can after having a horse for such a short time, you can still love them with all your heart! i wait 11 long months for that foal to only see him once! xx :'(
