We are playing this in my high school jazz band. It's pretty hard but we will get it. Gotta admit, trombone part is a little comfusing
-
there's a tuba part to this...

was the first alto solo written or improv, cuz we do it improv but it doesn't seem like it here

You all did a fantastic job! We are playing this song in band and I myself love the old western style. To the comment which talks about Jazz being "American" I say shove off! Music is an International language I which any Human can speak, play and understand.
Swing on my friends, swing on.

Tip the trumpet at like measure 9 i do belive sonds better with a harmon mute, and also you guys gotta play agressivley

omg. i can't even begin to be bash on these guys. omg the sax feature. practice it. make it more clear. drummer, do a better fill than a snare roll. the guitarist needs to learn jazz before he plays this chart. dude, its on 2 and 4. you just chuck the chords on 2 and 4 in this chart. nice and staccato. he's playing it like you should play satin doll. this is count basie. listen to the track. just listen to the freakin song on basie straight ahead.
-
dude that guitarist needs to play the chart the way its supposed to be played. same with the drummer. dude, learn jazz.
