Spring 2010, after a good solid week of rain, we knew it that as soon as the flows came down, there would be fish everywhere. We brought a first time steelheader, Mitch, on the trip. Lots of hooks ups, lots of break offs in the logs. Some big fresh fish, and some screaming drags.

Just because it is a creek, does not mean that the fish do not feed...

  • These are steelhead. They run to some of the biggest freshwater "oceans" there are!!! :D

  • @Thenerfbros1 didn't you see the glow bug in that steelhead's mouth at about 1:35?

  • Nice video! I remember my first steelhead back in spring 2010 also. Caught it at the spot at 2:16 lol

  • @rynathe Incorrect.,

Steelhead is the definition for the migratory Rainbow Trout.

  • These are not steelhead. These are rainbow trout. Only the PNW has steelhead. By definition a steelhead runs to ocean to feed.

  • @Thenerfbros1

How do you figure? Steelhead, will definitely take while in the rivers and creeks...so I don't see your logic.

  • Fishing in that creek snagging, you should use a heavy leader

  • @imtheguvnor they're like UK seatrout, they're just sea rn rainbow trout that come into the rivers to spawn

  • amazing that there are sch big fish in such small rivers!
