From the Bride of Frankenstein, 1935. Boris Karloff is The Monster and Elsa Lanchaster is The Monster's Mate. The Monster has held Dr. Frankenstein's wife hostage until Dr. F makes him "a friend." When Dr. F is done The Monster meets her, and well, it's the worst first date ever!

It's weird how iconic the Bride has become, cause she's only in the movie for a few minutes, has no dialogue other than some hisses and screams, and she never comes back in any of the sequels. Maybe its cause she is the only female Universal monster (or at least the only one anybody remembers), or maybe its just her fantastic hair do.

the monster's mate is actually quite beautiful except she has horrendous makeup and fugly hair. all she needs is a makeover. the monster is just hideous period. no wonder, I mean she deserves a more handsome looking companion at least.
