Toyota wouldn't be Toyota if not produce this ad...
Toyota introduces latest powertrain installment for Hilux Vigo with the fourth D4D engine: 2KD-FTV Intercooler with just added Variable Nozzle Turbo. A movement to fill the gap among lineup after took quite much disadvantages to other brands with lifted 2.5 litre 4x2 pickups.
In fact, it's just the third way of modification from 2KD-FTV, the first commonrail engine for Hilux in Thailand as we know it.
Come absolute with these pros:
Applied power more 20% to 144hp. Unleashes out 343nm equally with 1KD-FTV models even with difference in RPM. 10% better accelleration (from 0-100km/h); meanwhile gained more 8% fuel efficiency miraculously. With the engine's well-enough injection system as D4D's strict seleted. (Compared with 2KD-FTV I/C)
4cyl DOHC 16 Valve (EURO III)
Maximum Power
106kw @ 3,400rpm
Maximum Torque
343nm @ 1,600-2,800rpm
2KD-FTV with VN will replace PreRunner & 4x4 models with same engine with just 120hp. So there are 2 cabstyles, 4 variations to choose with just 5MT for transmission.
Exterior now also updated a little bit. Such as VN Turbo mark at fascia for all models with VN Turbo, and some colorized "SMART" stickers on Smart Cab models.
And now, all PreRunner 3.0 models have became G instead of E. They recieved the more comfort 4-spoke steering wheel of course.
These prices are for models with this new D4D 2.5 VN Turbo.
Smart Cab PreRunner - 673,000THB
Smart Cab 4x4 - 706,000THB
Double Cab PreRunner - 755,000THB
Double Cab 4x4 - 781,000THB
Coming to public from 15th August onwards.
Now I'm expecting if Toyota will also consider this engine for Fortuner (at least for foreign markets).
And soon another entry model will follow: 2.5 J-Plus with Smart Cab for first time ever. Value for money but with special features of course. (2KD-FTV 2.5 Light-Turbo aspirated 102hp)
nissan car such a trouble maker.no matter what kind of turbo they put inside the engine....engine cannot last, turbo down, and many many more fucking issue..i swear i won't buy any nissan car forever no matter how good the design are ... i will always prefer TOYOTA

I have a question, when did toyota thailand introduce the VN turbo for the 2KD-FTV engine? Was it around the date of this video (august 09)?
