Testing out 3W DIY Home Made Practice
Tried with all the shitty old speakers that I could find lying around.
No Pedals/FX only DIY Amp Speaker n Pickups
Dig the Seething Wattage!

The Amp was a little velleman electronics build it yourself kit:hence the solder burn :)
3W Mono Amplifier K8066 @ £7.99

My advice to anyone building your own practice amp is to get a bigger speaker and maybee use 12v?
& Half dead or Rechargable 9v batteries give a kinda distorted fuzzy sound :)+:(

Ive made a 1W Amp just like the Ruby with a 386 chip to try out another day with a larger or vintage speaker to see what all the fuss is about?

  • do you thiinkyou could add a volume switch??

  • yes potentiometers on the input line & out put line for post or pre amp chip vol adjustments,

+ a on off switch to save your battery!

  • You might want to find some kind of test enclosures for your speakers to get a better idea on how they would sound. Most speakers don't sound very well without a box, reguardless of size.

  • Cheers , Ive got an old stereo speaker (with box) and hiden the amp circuit inside, drilled a hole for the input jack, it kinda looks like an amp now :-)

Ill make a video response now that its finished

  • wat chip boar did u use

  • If it's a 3w amp, you SHOULD be able to drive a good cab off of it...

    At LEAST a 1x12''...

I'd like to hear you play on a bigger cab ! LOVE the Santana bits!

  • Glue a foam dinner plate to the speaker. You will be amazed at the tone improvement.

  • Interesting sounds. Tom Scholz would be proud!

  • what kind of wire did you use in the amp?

  • you would have to install a plug for it on the amp.
