For further help, ask on these forums

This tutorial covers using the block tool to make doors, windows, broken walls and arches, as well as spheres and cylinders. Play around with it-

spending a bit of time with the clipping tool really pays off.

00:00 - Making doors and windows

00:45 - Making broken walls (clipping tool)

01:52 - Rotating objects

02:36 - Making spheres and cylinders

03:27 - Making arches

05:29 - Vertex tool

Download the vmf here

as usual I will attack anybody who asks where they can download it. READ THE DESCRIPTIONS! That's what they're there for.

  • @spoon527 Toggle Texture Application Tool. It's now part of my first map tutorial video. The icon is located on the left hand side of the screen.

  • I'm having a weird issue. I had made a hollow block around what will be my map, and that worked out alright. Unfortunately, whatever I build inside disappears from view every time I select something else. Do you know whats causing this or how to fix it?

  • @NatPJ1 Firstly, press u. Then, make sure that you've got the block tool selected and not the selection tool. What you say is happening shouldn't be happening.

  • Thank you!, This was soo helpful!

  • @leetbh I've never heard of it done that way before. If I was to guess, I'd say that it's a pretty intensive and dodgy way of doing it. What happens if you view it from the side?

  • poor wall

  • Good work !!! :)

  • press 9 over and over again its funny

  • @3kliksphilip I tried all that and it didn't work... I'll just start over and see if it works when I try again.
